Welcome to the only Microbiology major in Nebraska, where you’ll receive interdisciplinary training with faculty from across two colleges and a range of departments within the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, all working together to help you reach your career goals. Our program is designed with flexibility to support diverse career paths in fields such as medicine, health, environmental science, and biotechnology. The curriculum is aligned with professional requirements of the American Society for Microbiology.

The Microbiology Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is an interdepartmental major. Faculty from several different departments are affiliated with the microbiology program.
The microbiology program is led by Dr. Karrie Weber, assisted by an advisory committee.
